Freshly Milled Quartz Particles Obtained from River Sand as an Efficient Natural Demulsifier for Crude Oil Emulsions

چکیده
Saline water necessarily contained in crude oil forms complex and stable water-in-oil (w/o) emulsions with oil. Due to the negative impact of this emulsion on oil’s transportation refining, special materials are added help break separate water. Herein, a comparative study demulsifying ability concerning w/o original freshly milled quartz (FMQ) particles isolated from river sand was carried out. The effect mesh size 75 ?m reducing stability investigated using rheological measurements, interfacial tension demulsification tests, as well routine methods for characterizing solid liquid materials. With addition 3 wt% FMQ, 97% efficiency achieved after 100 min settling, against 140 quartz. role milling is increase adhere thus locally pH value; results reduction its destruction. prolonging lasted about 2.5–3.0 h, which became comparable that starting material.

Optimization of Demulsifier Formulation for Separation of Water from Crude Oil Emulsions
In this study, various water-soluble and oil-soluble demulsifiers were selected for separation of water from crude oil emulsions and their productivity measured using the Bottle-test method at 70 °C and 10 ppm concentration. The best ones among 23 demulsifiers examined through the screening process were fatty alcohol ethoxylate, triethanol amine and urea from the water-soluble group and Basoror...

Application of Imidazolium based ionic liquid Nano-emulsions for the removal of H2S from crude oil
Hydrogen sulfide is one of the most dangerous contaminants in crude oil and natural gas that have to be removed prior to the transfer and refining. In this study, hydrophobic ionic liquid, i.e. 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium methylflour, [EMIM] [NTf2], was used as scavenger for the reduction of the H2S. Due to its ionic nature, [EMIM] [NTf2] forms nanoemulsion in crude oil media and hence can diss...
